After a few months of relatively little activity on the circuit, everything really lights

up over the next 2 or 3 weeks with our first Track Day, Club Saturday,

Boot Sale and our 2008 opening Race Meeting and Sprint.

This week we enjoyed our opening test day with several of our regular drivers shaking down new or revised cars. Shane Marshall was getting in some laps in his Jade and must surely start as one of the favourites for the savesometax.co.uk Special GT Championship. Mick (The Truck) Eickmeyer has traded in his Porsche for a Caterham and was immediately several seconds faster.

Saturday the 8th March sees the first of our Club Track Days with Porsche Club (GB) running the first of their several Castle Combe visits.

Friday the 14th March our Car Track Days kick off. With just a handful of places still available phone Emma Burns on 01249 782417 to book your place or go on line at www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk .

Saturday the 15th March the Castle Combe Racing Club run their annual Training Day. This also doubles as a testing day for many of our regular competitors from the National Mobile Windscreens Saloon Car Championship and at the same time gives marshals the opportunity to receive additional training in a ‘live’ situation. If you have ever thought about marshalling, then just turn up and register from 08.00 at the college building just inside the Camp Corner Gate. It will give you a great insight, the chance to meet fellow enthusiasts and may well be something you wish to take up.

Sunday the 16th March we enjoy our first Car Boot Sale of 2008, so a great chance to clear out the loft or garage and make some money or alternatively pick up a bargain. Sellers are admitted from 08.00 and buyers from 09.00. You don’t need to book in advance, just turn up. Sales pitch rates are:-

Car £8.00, small van & trailer £10.00 or a large van £25.00. Buyers admission is by a 25p charity donation with Castle Combe Colts benefiting.

Thursday the 20th March sees the pre-race test day and of course we are then into the start of the season. The Classic Saloon Race Day on Monday the 24th March will open yet another exciting season at Castle Combe Circuit with a packed 10 race programme. To save money, order a ticket in advance, either on line or by phone. Full details of the race meeting to follow in the next newsletter.

The last weekend of the month sees the first ever Great Western Sprint – a joint promotion by the Bristol and Bristol Pegasus Motor Clubs.

For details on all Castle Combe Circuit events, Track Days and Driving Experiences, look at our website at www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk or telephone 01249 782417 for a copy of the 2008 Fixture Guide.

We look forward to your visit.
